Welcome Catherine and Eric!

We are so excited to be hosting our inaugural Summer Research Assistants at the Sampson Lab, Catherine Channell and Eric Sakkas. We are looking forward to having these outstanding students in our lab as well as seeing how they grow and are able contribute to our research efforts.

Meet Catherine Channell

Hailing from Southern California, Catherine is a rising junior studying Biology and Biochemistry at Loyola Marymount University who is researching in Boston as part of the Harvard Summer Research Program in Kidney Medicine. She is part of the wet lab research team and is exploring Boston for the first time. Catherine is considering a MD-PhD or MD career path after she finished her undergraduate studies.

Meet Eric Sakkas

Eric is a sophomore at Wesleyan University studying Molecular Biology & Biochemistry and Computer Science. At Wesleyan, he is a member of Dr. Michael Weir's lab, where he utilizes molecular dynamics simulations to better understand the CAR mRNA-interaction surface of the ribosome. This summer Eric will be working on the computational research team in the Sampson Lab.
